- AIX Installation
- Download the AIX installp format image, for instance dpcl_aix52_installp_3.4.3.gz
- Uncompress the image, for instance gzip -d dpcl_aix52_installp_3.4.3.gz
- Install DPCL using installp, for instance installp -qaXd dpcl_aix52_installp_3.4.3
- If you need to uninstall DPCL, you can do so with the command installp -r ppe.dpcl as long as you have not committed the installation of DPCL
- Linux Installation
- Download the Linux RPM file, for instance dpcl-3.4.3-0-i386.rpm
- Install DPCL using rpm, for instance rpm -i dpcl-3.4.3-0-i386.rpm
- If you need to uninstall DPCL, use the rpm command, for instance, rpm -e dpcl-3.4.3-0
- For both AIX and Linux, DPCL uses a single port with the following attributes:
- Service name: dpclSD
- Default port: 7895
- Protocol: tcp
- The dpclSD service is specified in /etc/servcices. If a different port number is desired, that can be changed by updating
the /etc/services entry for the dpclSD service.
